Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum (KBGA) is so much more than a botanical garden. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2022, KBGA is stewarding 12 historic buildings and preserving a horticultural legacy while also providing the critical opportunity to connect with nature moments away from the heart of the city. We serve as a distinctive treasure for the local community while making an important contribution to the tourism economy. With programs like Story Thyme, we are inspiring the next generation of botanists and conservationists while eighteen display gardens across our 44-acres converge to inform and inspire the advancement of ecological diversity and ornamental landscapes.

Members make our mission to grow gardens, honor history, and cultivate community possible. As both a nonprofit and a free garden open to the public 365 days a year, we depend on our members to make all of this and more possible every day.
