What is a Legacy Stone?
Beautiful, naturally-shape Crab Orchard stone, prized for its unique, varied coloration is engraved with your message to honor your loved one, celebrate your family, commemorate a special occasion, or share an inspiring quote for future generations. These engraved stones will become the pathways that lead visitors through the Howell Legacy Garden. Stone benches are also offered and may grace the Howell Legacy Garden or could be placed throughout the grounds.
Taking shape in 2024, the Howell Legacy Garden will be nestled between the Secret Garden and the Upper Dogwood Trail. A celebration of the significant horticultural contributions of the Howell Family, the garden will reflect the unique cultivars and plant specimens that have graced our grounds over the last two hundred years.

Stones come in three sizes and may include up to 40 engraved characters.
Benches come in one size and may include up to 70 engraved characters. Garden staff will be in touch to confirm your inscription prior to engraving. Messages are subject to approval.
