From Garden to Sacred Smoke: The Art of Botanical Incense

From Garden to Sacred Smoke: The Art of Botanical Incense
$50.00

Saturday March 1 | 10am-1pm | Garden Club Room (lower level of the Howell House Visitors Center)

In this workshop, participants will receive guided hands-on experience while crafting three different types of natural smoke medicine preparations from the garden and surrounding Tennessee wilds. We will explore medicinal qualities and ancient energetics of specific botanical smoke medicines, and how they can be combined and applied to everyday life for health and harmony at home.

Each participant will bring home three custom blended smoke medicine preparations: Loose Incense, Incense Cones, and Smudge Sticks -as well as an informational packet with notes/topics from class. Students are asked to bring a container to transport their cones (which will need drying time). All other materials will be provided.

Led by Garden staff member Fig Finkelstein, who has years of experience practicing as a holistic medicine doctor, this workshop provides participants with alternatives to commercial fragrances, utilizing materials found in their gardens, spice cabinets, and surrounding greenspaces. Smoke medicines can be extremely beneficial and healing -particularly with mental health conditions, while working to establish Zen and tranquility in one’s home space.
