For over 200 years, the property in which KBGA resides was recognized as one of the most outstanding nurseries in the Southeast. In 2001, KBGA was formed in order to preserve and protect this historic, but overgrown, property. For this very reason, KBGA’s mission of “Growing Gardens, Honoring History and Cultivating Community” emerged.
The Garden is located in the middle of an urban neighborhood in East Knoxville. As we work to enhance the property, it increases the value of the homes bordering KBGA – as well as our neighbors’ sense of pride in their environs. The facility provides much-needed community resources such as walking trails, a beautiful connection to nature and job training opportunities for area youth via partnerships local organizations. We have transformed this place – once at risk of becoming a forgotten relic – into an unparalleled community resource.
With your support, together we will continue making a significant impact on area tourism and developing Knoxville’s reputation as a Garden City. Simply put – an investment in Knoxville Botanical Garden is an investment in our community!
Corporate support is essential to helping KBGA continue to “Grow Gardens” and provides an opportunity for corporations, of all sizes, to give back to the community supporting this true cultural jewel. Giving opportunities range from sponsorships to major gift naming opportunities.
With every donation that companies, foundations, and organizations give to the Garden help us continue educate, preserve, propagate, feed, conserve, and beautify.
