The Knoxville Bonsai Society will hold its third annual Winter Bonsai Display in the Garden Club Room at the Knoxville Botanical Garden on Saturday, February 9, 2013, from 10:00am until 4:00pm. Displaying in Winter allows for the viewer to see the delicate structure of deciduous bonsai like Japanese Maples and American Hornbeams, which can be much more impressive than with all the leaves in place. The largest bonsai show in Japan, Kokufu Ten, is also held about this same time each year in February and has been for over 80 years as it is considered the best time to display bonsai. Members of the KBS from Nashville to Asheville, but mostly from Knoxville will show bonsai for your viewing pleasure. Please come and enjoy some of the nicest bonsai in the region free of charge.
