Learn: Going Native

Leader: Brian Campbell, Director of Horticulture

Many gardeners find shady areas difficult because of poor site conditions or limited plant selection. Join Brian Campbell, the Gardens answer man, on a journey with lots of shady characters. Come and learn what herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees thrive in shady and less than ideal conditions. This class is geared toward the beginner with a focus on different site conditions and plants that add interest to the dark corners of your landscape through variegated foliage, colorful berries and interesting bark. Half of the two hour class will be in a classroom and the rest of the time will be spent walking through the KBGA’s extensive shade gardens.

Pre-registration is required

Cost: members $7 / non-members $ 12
